Welcome!

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Matthew 28:19

Thank you for your interest in Saint Barnabas! If you are as inspired by the call in Matthew's Gospel as we are, you will feel right at home at our parish. We find great peace in the Mass and worship, but we understand that we can only fulfil our Christian responsibility if we are sharing our faith with and serving others. Our greatest joy is in bringing others to Christ.

Whether you’re just visiting us for a brief time, looking for a new parish home, are returning to the practice of your Catholic faith, or are interested in finding out more about the Catholic Church, we’re happy to have you here. Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does it mean to be a merged parish?

Saint Barnabas Catholic Congregation is one parish with three different sites. We act as one because we are one.

Our parish was formed on July 1st, 2024 after St. Rita, St. Augustine, and Holy Assumption merged. The three parishes had been collaborating and sharing a pastor for several years and it became clear that they were stronger together.

St. Rita, St. Augustine, and Holy Assumption no longer exist as individual parishes; their buildings and parishioners are now part of Saint Barnabas Catholic Congregation.

Additionally, in 2023, St. Florian Parish in West Milwaukee merged with Holy Assumption, which is why you may see or hear references to St. Florian.

  • When and where are Masses held?

Please find our Mass and worship schedule below.

  • How can I get involved?

Thank you for your interest and willingness to serve! We believe that one of the most important ways we can show our faith and bring others to Christ is through works and service to others.

If you would like to get involved with a ministry, start by contacting the chair of the ministry.

If none is listed, please contact the corresponding Commission Chair, the Pastoral Council Chair, or the Finance Council Chair.

Failing those options, please contact the Parish Office to be pointed in the right direction.

  • Who was Saint Barnabas the person?

Great question! He is indeed a bit of a lesser known saint, though that makes him no less inspiring.
